Marco Roosink is violinist of Camerata Busoni; A joint initiative to perform chamber music ranging from Bach and Mozart Sonatas, Beethoven and Schubert Piano Trios to Brahms Piano Quartets and great contemporary or forgotten compositions. Marco Roosink was born in The Netherlands in 1969. He began his formal musical studies with violinist Else Krieg and graduated from the Royal Dutch Conservatory in The Hague where he studied violin with John Harding and viola with Ferdinand Erblich. He attracted attention at a very young age as the leader of the Fervore String Quartet that, o.a. was invited to perform for Sir Yehudi Menuhin for his 75th birthday. During his studies he won with a piano trio the prestigious chamber music competition held by the Dutch state-supported music agency: "Het Nederlands Impresariaat". His passion for chamber music was further guided by members of the Orlando Quartet, Bartók Quartet, Borodin Quartet, the pianist Bruno Canino and cellist Siegfried Palm. With several piano trios, quartets and quintets he gave many chamber music concerts in The Netherlands, o.a. at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw. Concerts included collaborations with members of the Schoenberg Quartet, the Orlando Quartet 1992-1997 and ever more frequently with the pianist Geoffrey Madge since 1999. Abroad he played chamber music concerts in England, Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland, Denmark, The Middle East and Asia. As a soloist he performed violin concerto's by Mozart, Beethoven and Mendelssohn. Marco Roosink plays with an outstanding bow, kindly lent to him by the 'Nationaal Muziekinstrumenten Fonds' (NMF).
