These pages are a collection of thoughts, resulting from playing the violin for a living and my past musical experiences with doing that since 1989. It is also, in part, a tribute to some of my musical heroes. Jazz is a topic, because it is the musical language that I can love, while still staying a true amateur.
Because I lost my violinistic heart to chamber music literature from about the moment I picked up the violin as a child in 1977, you will find that my discussion is centered a lot around the intimate chamber-musical corner of the musical spectrum, more than the glittering orchestral and soloistical musical heavens.
The reason I (want to) write most of these pages is mainly to figure out how I actually think about those subjects and clarify some thoughts about my favourite musical topics:
1) 'Interpretation' and 2) The impact of thought on practicing, rehearsing, performing'. Lifting these musings beyond their free floating moments in the minds eye, all of it is merely personal opinion - like any concert performance - therefore; please, don't be offended when you disagree or experience your own musical life completely different.
